Join Dr. Leslie Citrome and Hailey Atkinson in an insightful session that delves into the prevalence and impact of Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS) caused by Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and its correlation with mental illness. Our faculty will critically evaluate the limitations of conventional treatment strategies for EDS associated with OSA. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced when addressing this condition and explore alternative therapeutic options that go beyond traditional approaches. Describe the prevalence and burden of EDS due to OSA and its correlation with mental illness.
Assess symptoms of EDS to determine its root cause(s), using clinical guidance and evidence-based diagnostic strategies.
Explain the limitations of conventional treatment strategies for EDS due to OSA.
Summarize the most current clinical data associated with novel pharmacologic treatments for EDS due to OSA.
Effectively utilize novel treatments for EDS due to OSA where appropriate in clinical practice, taking into account patients’ comorbid psychiatric conditions.
